About The Position

Join Les Franchises Chico Inc. as a Project Manager, Construction and Development and play an active role in expanding our network through the successful execution of store opening, renovation, relocation, and retail development projects. Reporting to the Director of Construction, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing projects that support the growth and evolution of our store network. Working closely with franchisees, vendors, contractors, and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards. The successful candidate will ideally be located in the Greater Montreal area. This is a hybrid position that combines office work, remote work, and frequent travel to stores, construction sites, and project locations.

Requirements

  • College or university degree in a relevant field such as project management, construction, architecture, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects related to retail construction, store development, and/or commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and resource coordination skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Good knowledge of construction practices, building materials, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required for business travel.
  • Availability to travel regularly throughout Quebec to visit stores, construction sites, and potential locations.
  • French: Advanced written and spoken proficiency required.
  • English: Professional working proficiency, both written and spoken, required to communicate and collaborate regularly with partners, vendors, and teams located outside Quebec.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MS Project, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Asana is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project schedules and ensure deliverables are completed by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for assigned projects.
  • Support and guide franchisees through the various stages of project integration and execution.
  • Plan and coordinate external resources, including electricians, merchandising contractors, carpenters, sprinkler technicians, and other contractors, while obtaining quotations as required.
  • Coordinate store layout development and oversee orders for fixtures, displays, and store furnishings.
  • Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from planning through completion.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, verify work quality, and ensure timelines are being met.
  • Provide support and guidance to franchisees before, during, and after project completion.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions and external vendors to facilitate financing requests when required.
  • Review, prepare, and coordinate internal construction-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for leasing, franchise agreements, procurement, and marketing.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of potential locations presented by brokers.
  • Conduct site visits with management, contractors, and prospective franchisees.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required based on project needs.
