About The Position

Pulsar is seeking a Maintenance Service Manager for a Night/Evening shift position based in Brossard or St-Eustache. This role is crucial in shaping the future of mobility. As a Maintenance Service Manager within the Operations and Maintenance team, you will oversee night shift supervisors for both REM depots (South Shore and North Shore) and be responsible for train delivery according to contractual requirements. Your primary objective is to manage all aspects of the REM Operations and Maintenance contract efficiently and effectively, focusing on availability, reliability, and safety to meet commercial and operational needs. You will promote a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture, ensuring all activities comply with current HSE policies and regulations. This position is based at either the Brossard or St-Eustache depot, with occasional travel between the two sites. The ideal candidate enjoys challenges and thrives in dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environments with high expectations and significant workload.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in administration, management, or a related field.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in the railway sector.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in automated train maintenance.
  • 6 to 12 months of experience in multi-site management.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in applying a collective agreement.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in personnel and team management.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Team spirit and the ability to persuade others.
  • Initiative and autonomy in managing multiple priorities while respecting deadlines.
  • Ability to work evenings and nights.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, evaluate, and develop the team to ensure compliance with all existing HSE regulations.
  • Implement the HSE policy in the field and contribute to improving depot performance.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives when technical and/or operational issues are identified.
  • Conduct briefings on quality, safety, and communication.
  • Monitor and ensure the correct use of calibrated tools.
  • Utilize the ERP system optimally and ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date training modules and certifications for specific tasks.
  • Support the depot manager in achieving established HSE objectives.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of technicians in case of incidents on the REM network.
  • Provide technical leadership by managing team skill development and the continuous improvement process.
  • Establish and maintain lasting working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Rigorously adhere to existing processes, methods, and tools for all job-related activities.
