About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join a leading General Contractor delivering a major ground-up data center development in Michigan City, Indiana. This is a site-based role responsible for managing the civil and sitework packages across a large-scale, fast-paced data center project. The successful candidate will have a strong General Contractor background with previous experience delivering ground-up data center or mission-critical construction projects.

Requirements

  • Previous ground-up data center construction experience
  • General Contractor (GC) background
  • Proven Civil Project Management experience
  • Strong heavy civil and site development knowledge
  • Experience with earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage and paving
  • Experience managing large civil subcontractor packages
  • Strong understanding of schedules, budgets, procurement and change management
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced mission-critical construction environment
  • Must be willing to work full-time on site in Michigan City, Monday–Friday

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil and sitework packages from preconstruction through completion
  • Oversee mass excavation, earthwork, grading and site preparation
  • Manage underground utilities, stormwater, drainage, water and sewer infrastructure
  • Coordinate roads, paving, concrete and associated site infrastructure
  • Manage civil subcontractors, vendors and suppliers
  • Review civil drawings, specifications and construction documents
  • Manage RFIs, submittents, change orders and procurement
  • Monitor budgets, forecasts and project schedules
  • Coordinate civil activities with structural, MEP and vertical construction teams
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to maintain schedule
  • Manage site logistics and sequencing across a complex, active construction environment
  • Identify constructability issues and proactively resolve field challenges
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, safety and quality
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and permitting requirements
  • Provide regular progress updates to project leadership and stakeholders
  • Support project closeout, documentation and turnover
