About The Position

The Project Management Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of cross-functional projects spanning engineering and business teams. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in structured environments, values clear communication, and is motivated to help teams deliver projects on schedule and within scope. In this capacity, the intern will contribute to the development of advanced lithium-ion battery pack systems, supporting efforts across design, prototyping, and testing for both the KULR ONE platform and customized solutions for strategic customers. The position offers hands-on exposure to KULR’s K1 and K1 DS processes—core frameworks that govern design engineering, iterative prototyping, and rigorous validation standards. This internship provides a comprehensive introduction to program and project management within a highly technical environment, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in energy storage, thermal management, product development, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical design principles; interest in battery systems or energy storage is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test data, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail in both design and testing tasks.
  • Comfortable working hands‑on with prototypes, tools, and test equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and eager to learn in a highly technical environment.
  • Understanding of basic project lifecycle concepts including planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closure in a cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with product development stages, including design, prototyping, testing, and validation, particularly in hardware or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to track multiple workstreams, manage priorities, and maintain structured documentation to support on-time project execution.
  • Strong ability to clearly communicate updates, capture meeting notes, and facilitate information flow between engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and business teams to support alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn tools such as Excel, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar platforms for tracking project progress and milestones.
  • Capacity to participate in engineering discussions, capture action items, and help translate technical inputs into actionable project tasks.
  • Comfort with rapidly changing priorities, iterative design cycles, and hands-on prototyping environments typical of hardware development programs.
  • Proactive mindset to identify gaps, follow up on deliverables, and drive tasks forward with minimal supervision while learning from senior team members.
  • Cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.
  • Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
