About The Position

The Electric Operations department is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity to customers, covering all aspects of PG&E's Electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, restoration, and emergency response. A key function within Electric Operations is the execution of large substation and transmission projects, managed by the project management team. This team supports overall project execution and ensures the efficient use of technology, tools, and applications for managing the project lifecycle in accordance with PG&E's project management standards and processes. The team is seeking a summer intern to assist with compliant, efficient, and systemic control of project documents, track project activities, attend site visits, work with land agents, and manage records. The intern will support various activities, gaining experience by working with experienced project managers and learning about the broader Electric Operations organization.

Requirements

  • Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management or related engineering field
  • Students must continue their education towards degree during and/or after the internship in a fulltime capacity returning back to school in the fall of 2026 full-time
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Nice To Haves

  • EIT or FE certification
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction

Responsibilities

  • Track projects activities and assist in managing projects costs/schedule
  • Performing Risk Assessment for capital projects
  • Managing projects accruals
  • Developing requirements for managing electronic records
  • Developing and implementing program effectiveness plan
