About The Position

The Project Management Summer Intern role is designed for a recent high school graduate who is preparing to begin college and interested in business, operations, or project management. This short-term summer opportunity provides hands-on exposure to professional workplace practices in both office and field settings while supporting project teams with coordination, organization, documentation, and communication. The intern will build foundational skills in planning, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management through guided experience, including opportunities for in-the-field observation and hands-on learning, to help prepare them for college and future career opportunities.

Requirements

  • Recent high school graduate who will be starting college soon, with an interest in business, project management, operations, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take directions from mentors or supervisors.
  • Basic communication skills, including speaking clearly and writing professionally.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, and complete tasks on schedule.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and interest in gaining real-world workplace experience before beginning college.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project team by helping organize schedules, notes, and basic project documents.
  • Assist with tracking tasks, deadlines, and follow-up items under the guidance of a supervisor or mentor.
  • Attend team meetings to observe how projects are planned, discussed, and managed.
  • Participate in site visits or field activities to gain hands-on exposure to project operations, workflows, and team coordination in real-world settings.
  • Observe field processes and assist with supervised on-site tasks that support project execution, documentation, or progress tracking.
  • Help prepare presentations, status updates, spreadsheets, or reports for internal team use.
  • Conduct basic research and gather information to support ongoing projects and team initiatives.
  • Learn and practice professional communication skills when working with team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation to help keep project information accurate and accessible.
  • Ask questions, seek feedback, and apply coaching to develop workplace and college-readiness skills.
  • Support special projects or administrative tasks assigned by the team as part of the learning experience.
  • Demonstrate reliability, curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn in a team environment.
