About The Position

The Make-A-Wish Canada Internship Program is a paid summer program designed to offer students from diverse backgrounds an impactful non-profit work experience, fostering a deep understanding of the sector. The program aims to equip students with hands-on experience and sector knowledge essential for their future careers, while enabling them to make meaningful contributions to the organization. Interns have the opportunity to work in their preferred areas of interest on significant projects alongside industry leaders. Make-A-Wish Canada is seeking a driven and creative Project Management Intern to join the CEO’s Office team. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys collaboration, research, and bringing forward fresh ideas. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Projects, the intern will gain valuable real-world project management experience by providing critical support in planning, executing, and evaluating strategic initiatives across the country. The intern will help advance projects that grant more wishes by supporting project planning, analyzing data, preparing updates, conducting research, and maintaining organized documentation, while also contributing innovative approaches to strengthen project outcomes. This is a full-time summer internship, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, operating on a hybrid model (2 days in office/3 days work from home office) based out of the Toronto office. The expected start date is June 1st, 2026, with an end date of July 24th, 2026, and an hourly rate of $17.60.

Requirements

  • Education in business administration, project management, or a related field.
  • Current student or a recent graduate.
  • Exceptional time management, and organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency with common computer applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must be between 18 and 30 years of age (Funding requirement).
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Funding requirement).
  • A clear Criminal Background Check will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous project management experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of organizational strategic projects that help grant more wishes.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Strategic Projects to develop plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Suggest and implement innovative approaches to improve project outcomes.
  • Prepare project updates and reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Research best practices to enhance project management.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support strategic initiatives.
