About The Position

The Project Estimator and Sales Representative is responsible for estimating insulation needs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects while generating sales through new business acquisition and maintaining relationships with existing clients. The role requires a combination of technical knowledge, customer service, and sales skills to assess insulation requirements accurately and sell insulation solutions that meet the needs of clients. This role will report to the Director of Sales for Construction Services.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of insulation/waterproofing products, installation techniques, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), BlueBeam, and experience with CRM software.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree or technical training in construction, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Certification or training in insulation technologies or energy efficiency.
  • Previous experience in sales within the construction or home improvement industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate insulation needs for various projects (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial).
  • Measure areas to be insulated and calculate the amount of material required for the job.
  • Prepare and submit detailed, accurate estimates and quotes for insulation projects.
  • Work with architects, builders, and contractors to provide detailed insulation solutions.
  • Interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine insulation and waterproofing requirements.
  • Collaborate with other platforms within the Second Mile Service companies.
  • Provide takeoffs for QWR New Home Division waterproofing needs.
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the insulation industry, targeting potential clients in various sectors (residential, commercial, etc.).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Promote company products and services, explaining the benefits and technical specifications of different insulation materials.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, offering solutions tailored to their insulation needs.
  • Negotiate prices and close sales agreements with clients.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients during the entire sales process, from the initial consultation to the project completion.
  • Address customer concerns, provide solutions, and ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of insulation projects.
  • Stay current with the latest insulation products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Continuously learn new insulation methods and materials to recommend the best solutions to clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify competitors and stay competitive in pricing and services.
  • Maintain accurate quotes, orders, and sales records in the company’s CRM system.
  • Prepare reports on sales activities and pipeline status.
  • Assist with invoicing and follow-up to ensure timely payments.
