Project Estimator
About The Position
Hanes Geo Components (HGC), which converts and distributes erosion control and soil stabilization products to distributors and contractors throughout the United States and Canada, is seeking a detail-oriented, competitive Project Estimator. The role estimates project bids and manages projects through the pipeline. The estimator will learn the business from the ground up, work alongside the sales team, and drive project sales execution. The position supports project development from bid opportunity identification through project close, including materials take-offs, bidding, product qualification, technical specification review, and technical sales support. It also maintains project, pricing, and competitive information in a tracking database.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Working knowledge of the construction industry.
- Technical and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Responsibilities
- Identify bid opportunities for an assigned region.
- Evaluate and complete materials take-offs.
- Prepare bids and coordinate with field sales staff.
- Manage the project process through close.
- Qualify products and provide product specifications.
- Frequently review technical specification requirements for products.
- Provide technical sales support to contractors, engineers, and field sales staff.
- Maintain and update the project tracking database, including project records, quoted customer prices, and competitive information to support current and future project development.
