About The Position

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and clients to help keep projects organized and moving forward. You will support projects from preconstruction through closeout while gaining experience across both the field and project management sides of construction.

Requirements

  • Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable communicating with field teams, subcontractors, clients, and design professionals
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • Commercial construction experience preferred
  • Previous internship, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager experience with a general contractor is a plus
  • Proficiency with common construction technology and project management systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with day to day project coordination
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and project correspondence
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and internal project teams
  • Maintain project logs and help ensure outstanding items are followed through to completion
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement, scopes of work, buyout, and contract documentation
  • Support project scheduling and help identify issues that could affect milestones or completion dates
  • Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, and other project financial documentation
  • Participate in owner, architect, subcontractor, and internal project meetings
  • Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on assigned action items
  • Work closely with field leadership to resolve drawing, coordination, constructability, and scheduling issues
  • Help ensure subcontractors have the information needed to perform their work
  • Assist with permitting, inspections, and coordination with local jurisdictions when needed
  • Support quality control and project safety expectations
  • Assist with punch lists, commissioning, turnover documentation, warranties, and project closeout
  • Maintain accurate and organized project records throughout the life of the project
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal team members
