Project Engineer - Land Development
About The Position
Atwell, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer passionate about site/civil engineering and land development. The role leads projects from initial entitlements through construction completion and contributes to company growth by delivering successful projects and maintaining strong client relationships. The position involves designing water and wastewater distribution systems, surface water management systems, site grading, and roadways; coordinating permitting across government agencies; and developing permitting strategies for large developments and smaller commercial projects. The role also participates in marketing initiatives and relationship-building with clients and government entities. The position is based in the Mitchellville office on a hybrid schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
Nice To Haves
- Relevant work experience in Maryland is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design water and wastewater distribution systems, surface water management systems, site grading, roadway design, and related civil engineering components.
- Oversee projects from initial entitlements through construction completion.
- Manage multiple permitting entitlements across governmental agencies.
- Develop and implement permitting strategies that meet project deadlines.
- Participate in marketing initiatives to enhance the company’s presence.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and government entities.
- Deliver high-quality projects and contribute to company growth and client satisfaction.
