About The Position

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer focused on site/civil engineering and land development. The role applies engineering expertise to land-development projects, leading them from initial entitlements through construction completion. It includes designing water and wastewater distribution systems, surface water management systems, site grading, and roadways; managing permitting across government agencies; developing permitting strategies for projects of different sizes; and contributing to marketing, client relationships, and company growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant work experience in Virginia.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater distribution systems, surface water management systems, site grading, roadway designs, and related site/civil engineering elements.
• Lead projects from initial entitlements through construction completion.
• Manage multiple permitting entitlements across governmental agencies.
• Develop permitting strategies to meet deadlines for large developments and smaller commercial projects.
• Participate in marketing initiatives to strengthen the company’s presence.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and government entities.
• Deliver high-quality projects and support company growth and client satisfaction.
