About The Position

Ames Construction is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join its heavy civil construction team. The role supports the management and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, utilities, and site development. It is suited to someone passionate about infrastructure development and interested in gaining hands-on construction project experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of construction principles and project management fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Internship or co-op experience in construction.
• Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Track project progress, prepare reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Support quality control and safety compliance on job sites.
• Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, and schedule updates.
• Participate in problem-solving and provide technical support during construction activities.
