About The Position

Granite is hiring a Project Engineer II to independently manage assigned project-engineering responsibilities supporting heavy civil construction projects, including project controls, field engineering, cost tracking, technical coordination, and documentation. The position works closely with project management and field leadership to coordinate work, solve problems, monitor performance, and keep execution aligned with cost, schedule, quality, and contract requirements. This is an on-site, project-based position at active construction sites and requires regular travel. Travel varies with assignments and business needs; work may involve being away from home and moving between project locations as projects are completed. The role operates in both field and project-office environments. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant technical training and construction experience, and at least two years of relevant construction experience. The person hired should be able to independently manage assigned project-engineering responsibilities and demonstrate working knowledge of construction operations, project controls, and field coordination. Heavy civil and energy-related construction experience, along with familiarity with relevant construction software and machine-control systems, is preferred. The work is performed primarily in an active construction/project-site environment, around large construction equipment and in outside working conditions. Granite offers a benefits package that includes paid holidays, sick leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plans, wellness programs, and a 401(k) match. The base salary range is $79,972 to $119,958; pay may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, education, and other factors.
