About The Position

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship RR programs and play an important role in addressing some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in Defense. As a Project Engineer, you will work to support the component design team to plan, manage, de-risk and deliver a new product introduction program. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1+ years of related experience, OR; A Masters degree in Engineering, OR; A JD/PhD in Engineering
  • To be considered for this role you must be a US citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Strong technical, people and project leadership skills
  • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and gated design process
  • Experience planning and managing activities associated with testing, verification, and certification activities
  • Experience with project management, including ForProject and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Excel, PowerBI and other analytic tools
  • Experience actively managing risk
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, take decisions and make recommendations with minimal data. Quickly understand the key technical issues in potentially complex technical problems on unfamiliar subjects
  • An excellent command of the English language for both written and oral communications
  • Ability to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule

Responsibilities

  • Prepare costs, schedule estimates and manage project control accounts
  • Support team with Earned Value, Risk and Change Management
  • Generate, plan, and manage test, verification, and certification plans
  • Manage and participate in product introduction gated reviews
  • Manage risks associated with internal and external environments in accordance with the Program’s Risk Management Plan
  • Ensure the team’s work is integrated with all relevant higher level plans - including relevant Project Management Plan and Risk Management Plan
  • Support of proposal/contract mod activity for future work
