About The Position

This position will require working independently on challenging and demanding projects to complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. It will require mechanical design and project management skills to construct skids, lances, headers, showers, and systems from the initial design phase to the commission phase: include trouble-shooting, shipping, and testing. In addition, this position entails working with Lechler’s project & design engineers, manufacturers, purchasing, suppliers, and customers’ engineers to solve situational problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one (1) years of practical engineering experience in manufacturing, assembly, or similar industry.
  • Must be proficient in English and possess the ability to read, to analyze, and to interpret common scientific/technical literature, financial reports, and/or legal documents.
  • Possess the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Possess the ability to effectively and clearly present information to management.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret business related documents.
  • Have the ability to work with fundamental mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inferences.
  • Understand the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
  • Possess the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Have the ability to identify problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and to draw valid conclusions.
  • Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient with the latest Microsoft Office products.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of General Dimensioning and Tolerance, including interpretation of drawings
  • Possess the ability to judge on tolerances for newly designed parts based on application.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up calculations/evaluations.
  • Utilize statistical data analysis skills to derive at conclusions from process and laboratory data.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred.
  • Piping design and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Piping and pumping systems experience a plus.
  • Instrumentation knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to speak, write and communicate in German or Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D software highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, including technical studies and industry applicable standards.
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plan with management.
  • Determine project schedule and stakeholders by identifying project phases and elements.
  • Perform engineering calculations for liquids and gases in pipes including, but not limited to pipe sizing, pressure drops, allowable pressures, allowable fluid velocities.
  • Specify and select equipment such as pump/fan and control valve specifications to meet customer and Lechler standards and specifications.
  • Manage effective and transparent communication with all project stakeholders
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Use sound judgment to apply design standards and specifications to determine the most cost-effective fabrication methods.
  • Develop and apply Lechler standards and test procedures to validate required performance.
  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Create functional descriptions and process flow diagrams for the automation/PLC programming of fluid handling equipment.
  • Commission projects that include mechanical and electrical components.
  • Document, maintain, and organize files according to Lechler, Inc. QMS standards.
  • Create operation manuals to meet Lechler and customer standards and specifications.
  • General Project Management to include: Customer correspondences and visits, Drawings and documentation, Fabrication, Cost control, Quality
  • Document all customer trip reports and fill out expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
