About The Position
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for its corporate office in Sanford, Florida. The intern coordinates with and assists Project Engineers and Project Managers in planning, organizing, and completing projects within an assigned area of responsibility. Work may include reviewing project plans and contractor bids, data entry, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and supporting project staff with daily tasks. Wharton-Smith is a general contractor specializing in water treatment, municipal, education, entertainment, and hospitality projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with and assist the Project Engineer and Project Manager with planning, organization, and completion of projects within an assigned area of responsibility.
- Review project plans and confer with management.
- Review bids from contractors.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform data entry.
- Assist the Project Manager or Project Engineer with daily tasks and duties.
