About The Position

Has immediate responsibility for the plant’s Capital program. Responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects. Ensures the successful completion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. This position is responsible for all aspects of project work including; design, CIR write-ups, developing contractor bid packages, overseeing project installation, cost tracking, training and startup assistance as well as post project support. Has primary responsibility for making, revising, and maintaining all Plant drawings. (Using Autocad, Solidworks, or similar) Performs analyses to develop design options and cost impacts Works with maintenance supervisors on plant issues Assists in Maintaining contractor safety program Supports the Process Safety Management program Develops and maintains the long-term capital plan. Originates formal project requests, investigates problems, develops solutions in line with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations Works closely with the plant engineering manager, the corporate engineering group, the plant staff and the production department. Assists in preparation of yearly budget for maintenance. Responsible for the purchase of materials for capital projects as assigned by the Plant Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in engineering or related field.
  • 2 to 4 years production processing, maintenance, engineering, or supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Autocad and/or Solidworks.
  • Strong PC skills including Windows, Word, Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write legible reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, auditors and other groups.
  • Must be proficient in mathematical calculation.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program.
  • Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.
