About The Position
Psomas is a 100% employee-owned firm seeking a Project Engineer / Civil Engineer for its Civil Engineering team in San Diego, CA. This role will contribute to the planning and design of diverse development and infrastructure projects across Southern California and beyond. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals to deliver high-quality solutions for public agencies, private developers, and institutional clients. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of experience supporting multi-discipline civil engineering projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong technical skills with experience preparing reports, designs, construction documents, specifications, and calculations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, collaborate effectively, and communicate with clients and project teams
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and design of site development and public works projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Perform research, due diligence, and engineering calculations to develop conceptual and final design solutions for a variety of civil projects.
- Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, and internal teams to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and supporting reports to advance projects through design and permitting.
- Coordinate with public agencies to support planning, entitlement, and design approvals for private and public projects.
- Support and mentor junior staff while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
