About The Position

BluEarth is seeking a Project Developer to join their team. This role is responsible for identifying and assessing renewable energy sites, supporting project scopes, execution plans, and contract deliverables. The Project Developer will also manage pre-construction activities, coordinate with subject matter experts, and engage with stakeholders, including local communities, Indigenous partners, and regulatory bodies. Key responsibilities include site control acquisition, managing permitting and approvals, and ensuring a smooth transition to construction. The role requires upholding health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as BluEarth's values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of project experience in renewable power generation.
  • Experience working with federal, provincial/state, and local regulators, and regulatory processes.
  • Possess excellent hands-on project management skills and demonstrated efficiency in providing project development support on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exposure to project development with a preference towards land, permitting, consultation, interconnection/transmission access and construction.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken).
  • Ability to travel within the United States and Canada.
  • Ability to work extended hours, as required.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Experience in wind, solar and energy storage is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Renewable energy site identification and assessment.
  • Support project scopes, execution plans, track and manage contract deliverables, HS&E requirements, insurance needs and QA/QC plans.
  • Support project development and pre-construction project management activities, working to proactively identify project barriers and implement strategies to overcome such barriers, including preparation of annual development budgets.
  • Play a significant role in coordination with subject matter experts, on technology selection, interconnection matters, energy marketing, financing, regulatory, engineering and design and procurement.
  • Support public consultation and stakeholder engagement efforts with local communities and leaders as well as indigenous partners, leadership, and communities.
  • Support agency consultation efforts with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies and decision makers.
  • Meet and negotiate with potential project landowners to acquire site control and to provide project information.
  • Coordinate project specific tasks including permitting and approvals, interconnection and transmission access, project communications, as well as providing an effective transitional basis into construction.
  • Uphold all aspects of BluEarth’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies, practices, and programs and work to ensure that all contracts and agreements are implemented and administered with the same care and requirements such that occupational accidents, injuries, and other hazards related to BluEarth’s activities are minimized and/or avoided.
