About The Position

HDR has an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced professional to serve in a leadership position as the Missouri/Kansas Building Engineering Services (BES) Project Delivery Leader (PDL). As PDL, you will report to the Missouri/Kansas BES Business Group Manager (BGM) and work alongside the BGM to provide and promote consistent project management processes, quality and oversight of project delivery across the Business Group (BG). As PDL, you will collaborate closely with BG leadership to promote and advance project management skills development, career path development, and mentorship of BG staff. Your direct reports may include local program managers, project managers, commercial managers, and collaborative delivery leads. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PDL will be responsible for understanding and having direct knowledge of the HDR project management tools and collaborating, training, and mentoring staff on their implementation and use.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • A minimum 15 years' of experience
  • Maintains professional or engineering registration and has extensive related technical expertise
  • Experienced in management and development of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with operations managers, technical staff and marketing managers on professional services-related efforts

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience developing, managing, and leading multi-discipline project delivery teams
  • Proven history of delivering high quality, profitable and successful building facility projects
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with systems and PM tools for effective project management and delivery.
  • Extensive industry experience in delivering facility projects across market sectors such as Healthcare, Mission Critical, and/or Industrial
  • Demonstrated experience with managing and leading diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, monitor and improve technical competencies of area staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers.
  • Lead and monitor development and training of BES staff in technical and business competencies across all area offices (Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, and Wichita).
  • Oversee workload balancing and ensure qualified staffing of project teams.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities striving for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor project QC Review activities including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers.
  • Lead and monitor activities for continuous improvement including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices and lessons learned.
  • Lead and participate in project reviews and support project teams with management of claims and losses.
  • Lead the Area mentoring initiative.
  • Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution, in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Work with AM to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with Area, corporate policy and MOA.
  • Oversee and ensure implementation of quality, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide leadership to assigned business class leaders, including the cross-sector leaders.
  • Collaborate with Area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders.
  • Participate in Area strategic planning and plan implementation.
  • Support area activities related to hiring and retaining key staff.
  • Serve as a champion for BGX opportunities.
  • Support communication and coordination within all business groups.
  • Perform other duties as needed
