About The Position

Assure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within primary Project Management computer systems. Provide data analytics expertise to support Quality Planning, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control within AEP Project Management. Work on data analysis projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data by performing analysis, interpreting results, and developing actionable insights and recommendations. This work includes data mining, auditing, aggregation, validation, reconciliation, and visualization. The position provides frameworks for data integrity and correction, monitors the effectiveness of project quality management systems, and recommends improvements. It supports project teams in monitoring process quality, documentation, and scope adherence; reviews processes and procedures for alignment and audit compliance; and monitors performance metrics. The role also collaborates with QA/QC schedule and cost groups, supports continuous improvement and training, and helps administer AEP project management standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
At least four years of experience demonstrating knowledge of analytics and statistical software, such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, or SPSS, to perform analysis and interpret data.
Effective and compelling communication skills, including effective listening, with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical, complex problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to safely and effectively perform light physical duties at various work sites and in varying conditions.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience as a Project Data Analyst (grade 006).
Understanding of typical Project Control methods and procedures consistent with Project Management Institute's Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies.
Experience with departmental computer systems.
Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE certification.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification.

Responsibilities

Provide a framework for enforcing data integrity rules during data entry.
Provide scheduled reports, ad hoc reports, and other information to project management teams and leadership to support corrective measures.
Work with IT Support to provide a framework for updating data during data correction activities.
Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
Recommend and implement improvements and work with management on quality improvement measures.
Work with project teams to establish processes for monitoring quality, documentation, and scope adherence, and to control influences that could change them.
Review project processes and procedures for alignment and perform data analytics to ensure departmental audit compliance.
Monitor macro- and micro-level performance metrics to measure process and productivity improvement effectiveness, and assess whether metrics promote appropriate behavior across the organization.
Provide ongoing continuous-improvement support and training as required.
Collaborate with QA/QC schedule and cost groups to align cost and schedule processes.
Provide status reports to the Project Support Manager.
Facilitate sharing and adoption of best practices across AEP.
Direct and guide administration of AEP project management organizational standards and assist in managing projects according to those standards.
Adhere to the guidance and standards of the AEP Project Management Governance Committee.
Travel as needed to support AEP regions, approximately 10–15%.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including team members, sponsors, management, and senior management.
Provide training support for Project Management and other departments affected by departmental reporting, policies, and processes.
Safely and effectively perform light physical duties at various work sites, including home and AEP locations.
