North America Construction (1993) Ltd. – NAC Constructors Ltd. (NAC) is well known for our expertise in water and wastewater construction across Canada. We also have extensive experience in fields such as civil, structural, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. NAC is currently seeking a full-time Project Coordinator, initially based on our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON. Position Summary: Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and details of the project’s contract management, documentation, and reporting, making this role vital to the project management team. Effective project coordination ensures that information is timely and clear and the progression of the construction work is uninterrupted.

Requirements

  • Construction related formal education program - degree/diploma or relevant proven field engineering experience
  • 5+ years' experience working in the construction industry
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft software such as, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proficient in construction contract drawing and specification interpretation
  • Experience with construction law and contract review and administration
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Work effectively in a team environment and under high pressure
  • High level of initiative, grit and keen interest in technical problem solving
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and confident in decision making
  • Willing to travel with NAC to various projects may provide long term career opportunities
  • Valid WHMIS and Health and Safety Awareness Training for workers/supervisors certificates are required

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of NAC’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual.
  • Thorough understanding and proper interpretation of the full scope of project work.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for suppliers, subcontractors, and the Purchasing Department for coordination of external goods and services.
  • Prepare job status reports and other reports as required for senior management.
  • Coordinate site mobilization and demobilization including offices, furnishings, utilities, and communications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost reports; assist the Project Manager with financial forecasting, cost projections, and monthly cash flow tracking.
  • Maintain labour monitoring systems.
  • Maintain and update project schedules using CPM software, applying knowledge of project scope, building strategies, and construction sequencing.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to maintain the Awards & Purchasing Log and manage procurement of goods and services, including follow-up to ensure proper delivery.
  • Prepare subcontract and vendor award documents, including scope definition and contract documentation; liaise with subcontract administration and service providers as required.
  • Coordinate submittals, maintain accurate submittal and procurement tracking logs, and manage field purchase orders (POs).
  • Prepare, track, control, and distribute all contract documents, drawings, and Article E documentation, ensuring timely submission and compliance with schedule requirements.
  • Control and manage the site RFI process, ensuring timely coordination and responses.
  • Ensure the timely pricing and processing of CRX changes / Change Orders, including assessment of cost and schedule impacts.
  • Provide administrative support to Trade Superintendents for procurement and tracking of tools and equipment in accordance with project and Equipment Department requirements.
  • Assist with the accuracy of shipping and receiving of project materials.
  • Prepare, maintain, submit, and obtain approval of O&M manuals, warranties, spare parts, as-built drawings, and other closeout documentation.
  • Assist with project closeout, including deficiency tracking, commissioning documentation, and timely completion and sign-off.
  • Support QA/QC processes as required.
  • Obtain field experience by assisting Trade Superintendents and Project Management in the field.
  • Take, organize, and maintain project photos for consistent and accessible documentation.
