About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Project Coordinator in the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), Division of Addiction Treatment Services (ATS), Bureau of Addiction Treatment to serve as the Coordinator of Vocational Services. The incumbent would support the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of OASAS initiatives designed to improve education, vocational and employment outcomes for individuals receiving treatment for or in recovery from an addictive disorder. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for the support and oversight of the Vocational Counselor.

Requirements

  • A current Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) credential as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), OR
  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, OR
  • Master's degree or higher in social work, counseling and/or education and 3 years of professional vocational work experience preferably in a Behavioral Health setting or working with individuals with a substance use disorder.
  • Continued employment as a Project Coordinator for vocational services is dependent upon maintaining CRC Certification.
  • Candidates must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in vocational rehabilitation, social work, counseling and/or education who have experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and in managing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary programmatic contact, which includes monitoring implementation, deliverables, timelines, and compliance with award requirements.
  • Developing expertise in vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, job development, and employment-related barriers affecting people with SUD.
  • Facilitating regular project meetings and learning collaboratives between OASAS and funded programs.
  • Providing technical assistance to funded programs to troubleshoot implementation challenges.
  • Working with evaluation staff to monitor and review reporting, identify implementation issues, and use findings to recommend improvements to the initiative.
  • Coordinating with internal OASAS staff to include Regional Office and other Program Staff as required.
  • Writing, compiling, and disseminating project information internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
