About The Position

TechServ is seeking a highly qualified Project Coordinator to join their innovative team. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's position as an industry authority and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will possess production experience, strong workplan development and progress tracking skills, and the ability to prepare and present regular updates to management to ensure project goals are met. TechServ, established in 1992, provides consulting and engineering services to the electric utility industry and is committed to hiring and developing a skilled, diverse, and engaged workforce. The Project Coordinator will supervise a team of engineers and technicians, assign tasks, provide guidance and training, and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. Project types can vary across departments and may include joint-use and make-ready functions, distribution design and engineering, and telecommunications network upgrades. Team sizes typically range from 5 to 15 individuals.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) to effectively manage and update reports.
  • Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Industrial Technology, or similar.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in the technical and infrastructure industry, especially Distribution Utility Design.
  • Knowledge of design, calculations, and design systems, including Joint Use and NESC safety codes (note: specific knowledge requirements will vary by department).
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Defensive Driving Training.
  • First Aid/AED/CPT Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the design process to ensure all designs comply with client specifications, industry standards (e.g., NESC), and other relevant regulations.
  • Serve as the first point of reference for technical inquiries from direct reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance productivity and quality of work.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to processes set by client specifications and senior management.
  • Respond promptly to organizational or client-driven changes, alerting team members as changes occur and utilizing approved communication channels.
  • Provide ideas to enhance efficiency and speed in the design process.
  • Anticipate potential obstacles in the design process, and develop proactive solutions.
  • Communicate promptly with team and other stakeholders as challenges or changes arise.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with direct reports and project leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of high-performance among direct reports.
  • Work with leaders and team members to facilitate/support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
