About The Position

Consumers Energy is Michigan’s largest energy provider, serving 6.8 million residents across 68 Lower Peninsula counties. The Project Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing new and existing project requests. This role ensures that the schedule, budget, and details of each project are well-organized, requiring working knowledge of applicable project systems and programs. The Project Coordinator must effectively prioritize and organize projects of varying sizes in response to customer needs, focusing on gathering customer work scopes and managing projects from initiation through design, scheduling, and field construction phases, according to the customer's required schedule. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

Understanding of pertinent rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to the department function
Knowledge and understanding of Consumers Energy Electric Tariffs
Knowledge of SAP Notifications and Billing
Knowledge of typical contract and agreement terms and language
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, property descriptions, and plans
Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Time management and ability to prioritize stakeholder requests
Knowledge of LEAN operating principles
Associate degree in a technical, scientific, or business-related field, with two (2) or more years of experience supporting project work OR High School Diploma/GED with four (4) or more years in supporting project work

Responsibilities

Maintain a storm response role, and assist with emergent operations/storm restoration, as needed
Participate in department problem-solving and waste elimination efforts
Assist with maintaining departmental standard work
Represent the department in cross-functional meetings
Monitor and respond to inquiries from various business partners
May be responsible for design work, based on geographic location, workload, and available design resources
Prioritize workload to successfully complete projects and meet customer commitments
Determine project scope, and evaluate design requirements and system impacts
Coordinate project work, including estimates of customer and system loads, generating tasks for other departments, providing cost estimates, identifying required permits, and scheduling work orders
Serve as the primary contact with customers to coordinate assigned CMS Energy Utility projects
Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
