About The Position

The Voter Language Assistance (VLA) Program provides interpretation services for limited-English-proficient voters during general and primary elections. The program also supports education and outreach initiatives in collaboration with community-based organizations (CBOs), aiming to increase equitable participation in NYC elections.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project coordination and operational support for the Voter Language Assistance (VLA) Program, helping keep projects organized, on schedule, and well documented.
  • Support election operations, trainings, outreach initiatives, and other program activities to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate with vendors, community partners, and grantees by tracking deliverables, maintaining documentation, and facilitating communication.
  • Assist with planning and execution of meetings, trainings, and public events, including logistical coordination and on-site support.
  • Support administration of the VLA microgrant program, including application tracking, recordkeeping, and grant administration activities.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain program data and records to support reporting, presentations, and continuous program improvement.
  • Assist with communications and outreach efforts to promote voter language resources and civic participation to VLA language communities.
  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
