About The Position

Synterra Security Solutions is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator Intern with strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to join their fast-paced, results-driven organization. This role supports the planning, execution, and completion of various projects across the organization, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives. The intern will provide support to project teams and will report to the Thunder Bay Manager, Operations. Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Proficient technical skills in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Positive attitude with a proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to staff safety
  • A valid G Ontario Driver’s License with a clean abstract
  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate.
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a Project Coordinator or administrative support role is an asset
  • Experience with project management software is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects across multiple sites
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure successful completion
  • Identify potential risks and issues and support the development of mitigation strategies
  • Support procurement, logistics, and resource coordination for project activities
  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project management processes and best practices
  • Participate in site visits as required to support project oversight and stakeholder engagement
