About The Position

Nationwide's Technology team is seeking a Project Coordinator, Facilities to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and reliability of critical infrastructure systems. This role leads a team of technicians and contractors in maintaining uninterrupted operation of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, network cabling, and backup power systems that support 24/7 mission-critical operations. The position ensures all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. The Project Coordinator will also coordinate and prioritize all aspects of projects including planning, communication, execution, and completion, serving as a specialist for activities associated with the engineering, installation, testing, maintenance, and operation of electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and electronic/mechanical components. This role acts as a functional specialist in various critical systems within the data center environment and contributes to the overall strategic vision by resolving complex electrical and mechanical problems.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies in an engineering subject area or technical/vocational studies with equivalent work experience.
  • Typically, eight or more years of proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance including electrical power distribution systems and HVAC systems in a raised floor environment.
  • Specialist in full process of installation, maintenance, repair and operation of electrical power distribution systems, HVAC and life safety systems and other electrical/mechanical devices.
  • Experienced knowledge in electrical and mechanical test equipment.
  • Ability to install, maintain, repair and complete complex electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and electrical/mechanical devices.
  • Ability to interpret advanced environmental system blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to supervise others in safe work procedures on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Possess command skills necessary for verbal and written communication at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Level I Vibration Analyst and Thermographer, State Hydronics License, State Electrical License, State Fire Alarm License, State HVAC License and CFC refrigerant is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of mission critical maintenance technicians and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure continuous operation and reliability of critical systems including: UPS systems, PDU equipment, Generators and fuel systems, Switchgear and electrical distribution, CRAC/CRAH units and HVAC systems, Network cabling.
  • Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Lead response efforts for critical alarms, equipment failures, and emergency situations.
  • Monitor system performance through BMS/EPMS platforms and facility monitoring tools.
  • Review and approve maintenance procedures, MOPs (Methods of Procedure), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments of facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance and shutdown activities to minimize operational impact.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, reports, and incident documentation.
  • Support general maintenance, building infrastructure, capacity planning, equipment upgrades, and improvement projects.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel to ensure technical competency and professional growth.
  • Produces all processes and procedures for Mission Critical facilities including preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Supplies all engineering services through internal and external resources for Nationwide facilities, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection and data centers.
  • Ensures proper project documentation is completed according to governmental entities, e.g., National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Electrical Testing Association (NETA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Institute of Architects (AIA), etc.
  • Coordinates all phases of installation of data processing equipment.
  • Determines location, installation requirements and schedules.
  • Figures out source of connectivity and power and provides detailed schematics.
  • Creates and maintains raised floor plan.
  • Determines locations for electrical and mechanical equipment, coordinates master plan with Nationwide Technology staff.
  • Incorporates hot and cold isles, data and power paths and locations of data processing equipment.
  • Leads major projects such as capital improvement, tenant improvement, financial and data processing.
  • Performs tasks associated with facility maintenance and repair.
  • Required to respond to emergencies 24x7 and perform hands-on tasks to remedy.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
