About The Position

Bechtel Infrastructure’s Renewables & Clean Power business line is seeking qualified project controls professionals for forthcoming combined cycle power plant projects planned in multiple locations across the United States and Reston, VA. The project teams will be initially based in Reston, VA; following contract award, selected candidates will relocate to designated project sites. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the reemerging power business supporting our customers and society. Successful applicants must be willing to start out on short-term assignments in Reston, Virginia and then mobilize to project locations upon award.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field required.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Current or previous Bechtel experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting/systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, including trend program.
  • Experience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects or similar process plants.
  • Experience in delivering fully integrated EPC projects.
  • Excellent skill in oral and written communication, including experience presenting information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
  • Significant experience of leading, managing, and organizing teams of diverse backgrounds and experience to meet project objectives.
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Manages cost engineering, cost estimating, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling activities for a large, complex project, that requires a high degree of technical skill and experience.
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of department procedures used for monitoring, controlling, and forecasting cost and schedule.
  • Accountable for the development, maintenance, and forecasting of the project schedule.
  • Accountable for the ongoing development and maintenance of an effective Change Management and Trend Program.
  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinates.
  • Ensures the appropriate level of professional services resources are staffed and maintained to support project execution.
  • Supports project organizational and administrative activities.
  • Develops the preparation and presentation of project estimates and cost forecasts.
  • Provides generally non-routine cost engineering and planning/scheduling guidance.
  • Provides project leaders and stakeholders with risk awareness support and guidance.
  • Coordinates development of all data in support of client negotiations.
