About The Position

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Dallas, TX is seeking a Manager, Project Controls. This position manages project controls team by overseeing financial controls and tracking for all major projects, and project manager with management tools, controls, and analysis, allowing manager to make informed decisions with accurate and timely data.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years in planning, estimating, and construction/maintenance management in a process plant environment is required.
  • Broad understanding of engineering, construction, logistics and financial processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, contracting, and procurement software systems and processes.
  • Spreadsheet software skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment and deliver to required deadlines.
  • Ability to work additional hours as required to support project control efforts.
  • Prioritization skills are required.
  • Ability to see how all the pieces affect the overall refinery, i.e., big picture perspective.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Manages up to 3 professional level employees
  • Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color difference, and wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
  • Job conditions may require standing, walking, making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 10lbs, and ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state drivers license and proof of insurance required.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline is preferred.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft packages Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, Access, etc.
  • General knowledge of procedures and practices for contracting field construction activities are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the overall project cost and schedule control efforts during all major capital efforts
  • Ensures through his/her team the correct structuring setups to facilitate data collection and control monitoring during the execution process
  • Oversees and approves the Evaluation and award of contracts for labor and material
  • Ensures the tracking of contractor performance, processes payments and logistics
  • Reviews and Approves large project AFE's with input from many departments, and acts as subject matter expert deciding on what should and should not be included as well as how data is prepared and presented
  • Oversees the tracking and forecast costs throughout life of the project
  • Reviews and Approves future project needs and establishes department budget
  • Oversees the Track progress against budget throughout year
  • Sets safety example by keeping current on LRST and other safety initiatives within the plans
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
