About The Position

Parsons is seeking an ambitious Project Controls Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to participate in the delivery of leading-edge infrastructure projects, working closely with the project managers by implementing efficient project control practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in P6, MS Project, Critical Path Methodology (CPM).
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems, specifically with CPI, SPI, and S-Curves metrics.
  • Knowledge of Cost and Schedule Management principles.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Power BI reporting an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
  • Facilitates the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
  • Perform some independent analysis of data stored in the project management and cost control systems.
  • Creates presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
  • Implement and maintain Project Planning and Scheduling.
  • Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
  • Develop and maintain less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule.
  • Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Report schedule status to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client.
  • Implement and maintain an Earned Value Management System on projects.
  • Analyze cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
  • Prepare and maintains project forecasts and status updates.
  • Provide assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to others in the resolution of project control problems.
  • Perform other project specific functions and responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
