About The Position

Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Control Specialist to support the effective delivery of the capital infrastructure program through monitoring project scope, budget, and schedule performance during planning, design and construction. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week at the Charlotte, NC office, with availability for on-site meetings at CLT Airport for construction progress discussions with the owner and contractor.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction management and/or project controls
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Trimble Unity Construct (e-Builder) or similar project management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as client's PM/CM agent (e.g., providing program management/construction management services)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Transportation Capital Infrastructure construction, Aviation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attend bi-monthly Design and Construction Progress meetings.
  • Verify project team compliance with Owner Project Controls processes, procedures, templates, and utilization of the Program Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Assist with defining project risks, escalate project risks when required, and support project teams in creating and implementing mitigation plans.
  • Prepare reports and performance dashboards for project controls and metrics, analyze data, and create/participate in client presentations.
  • Review and approve monthly invoices and pay applications, verifying required supporting documentation.
  • Maintain Program and Contract Contingency Trackers and potential change logs.
  • Support the Change Order process by facilitating all owner-required procurement and change management processes.
  • Provide Cost Management Support, including processing budget changes and updating cash flow forecasts.
  • Track contract actuals, variances from planned, and contract encumbrance balance.
  • Review and approve contractor weekly and monthly project control reports for contract compliance.
  • Coordinate and verify the GIS Construction Phasing and Gate Management Dashboard for assigned construction packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
