Project Control Specialist (Scheduler)
About The Position
TYLin is seeking a Project Controls Specialist (Scheduler) to join its PMCM group, supporting rail, transit, and other construction management projects in the Los Angeles area. The position will support project planning and scheduling, monitor contractor progress, and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and project teams. This posting is intended to gather expressions of interest for anticipated opportunities expected to arise over the next 3–6 months; an immediate vacancy may not be available. The position uses Primavera P6 to develop and review CPM schedules and contributes to logistical, delivery, and workforce planning. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of construction project scheduling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Client-focused approach, with a commitment to providing clients with the best solutions.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with and knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Certifications with PMI or AACEI.
Responsibilities
- Participate in logistical, delivery, and workforce planning with project personnel and incorporate the resulting plans into a CPM schedule using Primavera P6.
- Review contractor-prepared baseline, update, and recovery schedules using Primavera P6 and provide comments.
- Attend project progress and schedule meetings.
- Accurately track contractor work progress related to the schedule.
- Maintain liaison with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and project teams to support successful project delivery.
- Identify improvements to schedule procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
