About The Position

As a Project Buyer, you will be responsible for fulfilling customer deliverables for all purchasing requirements of the project during acquisition and development phases. This includes meeting cost targets, ensuring supplier PPAP timing, managing USMCA content, and updating the project team on critical items. You will prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations to ensure commercial, technical, and quality objectives are met, and provide component costing based on program BOM timing during acquisition. The role involves scheduling technical component reviews, leading sourcing decisions in accordance with MAHLE Purchasing Procedures, and collaborating with commodity buyers to leverage best overall landed costs. You will ensure purchased components meet all program milestones, track and coordinate progress between suppliers and the development team, and communicate supplier risks to the project team. Effective communication with development team members across MAHLE facilities worldwide is essential, including generating and presenting project status updates to management.

Requirements

  • Hands on experience using Excel is a must.
  • 2+ years of experience within negotiation and project management is a must.
  • Understanding and use of cost drivers and market dynamics in the electronic commodity is a must.
  • Can communicate effectively on technical topics and can understand technical drawings is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (english/japanese) is an advantage.
  • Detailed knowledge of markets of the electronic commodity is preferred.
  • Tier 1 Automotive industry experience preferable but not required.

Responsibilities
