About The Position

The Project Accountant supports project financial health by ensuring accurate accounting, timely processing, and adherence to established procedures. The role monitors budgets, tracks costs, and assists with financial analysis using precedents or prior projects to inform decision-making. It provides project teams with clear, reliable financial information, resolves routine and non-routine accounting issues, maintains detailed records, and supports continuous improvement in project accounting processes. The position also contributes to organizational and project success by following internal accounting policies and supporting project financial close activities.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in project accounting, financial management, or a related field preferred.
Successful completion of a background check is required.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Process project-related owner invoices, review project costs, and manage owner and trade payments independently to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Maintain detailed project financial records, including tracking budgets, costs, and billings in accordance with general instructions.
Prepare routine and non-routine financial reports and assist with variance analysis to support project and organizational objectives.
Collaborate with project teams to resolve standard accounting questions and discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and established procedures in project financial activities.
Assist with implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency in project accounting operations.
Support routine month-end and year-end project accounting close activities as required.
