About The Position

eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay Live brings the energy and interactivity of live video commerce to one of the world’s largest marketplaces. It’s a platform where sellers stream in real-time to connect with buyers, answer questions, showcase products, and drive sales in a dynamic, interactive format. Buyers experience a new, immersive way to discover and purchase products through trusted, human-centered engagement. eBay Canada has a very entrepreneurial atmosphere with the feeling of a start-up, but the resources (via our global teams) of an established company – the best of both worlds. We are seeking a Programming Manager to lead content strategy, show programming, and program operations for eBay Live Canada. This role sits within the Canadian eBay Live organization, reporting to the LIVE Country Manager. As Programming Manager of live shows on eBay Live, you will play a highly visible, cross-functional role at the center of our event production ecosystem—shaping compelling live content while building the systems, processes, and partnerships that ensure every event is relevant, timely, engaging, operationally ready, and commercially impactful.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, program management, production, programming, marketing, merchandising, or project management, preferably in live commerce, e-commerce, streaming, media, or digital retail environments.
  • Experience building and managing content calendars, live event planning processes, or program operations in highly cross-functional environments.
  • Proven success coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with competing priorities, tight timelines, and high visibility.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to build new processes, maintain operational rigor, and drive cross-functional accountability without direct authority.
  • Strong strategic instincts paired with analytical rigor; able to balance buyer insights, creative storytelling, business priorities, and operational feasibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with confidence influencing a broad range of collaborators across creative, technical, and business teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience using trackers, dashboards, calendars, and documentation to manage execution and readiness.
  • Experience identifying risks, solving operational challenges, and improving workflows to support more efficient and scalable execution.
  • Creative and resourceful problem-solver who is comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Passion for e-commerce, digital content, live experiences, and emerging trends in creator-led or audience-focused retail.
  • Regular travel across Canada and the U.S. to support onsite production and tentpole events; occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support live events, rehearsals, and on-site production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of buyer needs, category trends, and culturally relevant moments to build a calendar of live events and selling franchises that drive repeat viewership and Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).
  • Develop and lead the eBay Live Canada content calendar, identifying and scheduling livestream events that align with seasonal moments, category priorities, and cultural trends.
  • Build scalable programming frameworks, from one-off flagship events to recurring show formats, that align with eBay’s brand and drive repeat engagement.
  • Collaborate with top sellers, agencies, and internal teams, including Category, Marketing, and Business Development, to ensure a continuous pipeline of engaging content and scalable seller participation.
  • Act as a key connector between Category Management and Marketing, ensuring programming decisions reflect both strategic business priorities and buyer-centric storytelling.
  • Foster a buyer-first approach in content planning by identifying the right sellers, products, themes, and show formats to create compelling, curated live experiences.
  • Own end-to-end program management for live events, seasonal campaigns, and tentpole moments, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and dependencies are clearly defined and managed.
  • Build and maintain programming calendars, readiness trackers, process documentation, and operating rhythms to support efficient planning and execution across the live event ecosystem.
  • Partner with internal and external production resources, agency partners, and cross-functional teams to support event execution, from low-fi seller-led streams to polished eBay-produced flagship events.
  • Coordinate cross-functional deliverables across Marketing, Category, Product, Live Ops, and Production to ensure events are planned, resourced, and executed seamlessly.
  • Lead launch readiness for Tier 1–3 live events by tracking dependencies, identifying risks early, and driving issue resolution to support successful execution.
  • Lead cross-functional planning and alignment forums to ensure timelines, priorities, and event scope remain clear across collaborators.
  • Build and maintain run-of-show templates, process guides, and creative toolkits to help internal teams and sellers implement effectively and consistently.
  • Provide hands-on support and oversight for high-priority livestreams, onsite activations, and flagship moments as needed.
  • Find opportunities for automation, workflow improvements, and process optimization across programming and event operations.
  • Leverage data to formulate and test hypotheses on content types, hosts, formats, frequency, and timing that improve GMV, engagement, and repeat viewership.
  • Track event and program performance, synthesize post-mortem insights, and recommend improvements to strengthen content quality, operational efficiency, and business impact.
  • Share event health, key takeaways, risks, and performance insights regularly with Marketing, Category, and leadership collaborators.
