About The Position

eBay Live is a startup within eBay focused on bringing live shopping experiences to eBay's enthusiast customers. The General Manager (GM) of the North America business is seeking a strategic partner to guide the business through its next scaling phase. This role will be responsible for establishing a robust operating system for the team, managing information flow to stakeholders and executives, leading critical projects, and proactively addressing future scaling challenges.

Ability to create excellent slides for an executive audience, with clear narratives and data support.

Fluency with AI tools for analysis.
10 years of experience across consulting and operating; ideally in consumer tech or ecommerce.
Previous chief of staff or strategy & ops experience highly valued.
Previous scale-up experience highly valued.
MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a strong operating system for the North American Business Unit (BU), ensuring effective information flow, establishing review cadences with BU and cross-functional teams, and serving as a liaison between the NA BU and the central Live Strategy & Ops team.
Set up and manage review cadences for the GM with the BU and cross-functional teams to ensure oversight of critical initiatives and progress.
Implement central initiatives within the NA BU.
Identify opportunities for improved collaboration, joint problem-solving, and issues requiring GM attention.
Lead cross-cutting projects that span across category management, programming, and operational execution, including top-down initiatives, bi-annual planning, and monetization or incentives strategies.
Understand business drivers and common issues within each category to unblock the business and act as a thought partner to category teams.
Monitor competitive landscape and assess implications for eBay Live.
Conduct quick-turn analyses to inform business direction.
Perform initial diligence on areas of concern or new opportunities, sizing issues/opportunities, understanding bottlenecks, and assisting in plan formation.
Manage executive communications, including writing executive recaps and producing presentation materials for the GM.
Drive the adoption of AI best practices for analysis and workflow improvement.
Support the GM by managing a data analyst and process builder, and collaborating with a cross-functional program management team.
