About The Position

The Programmer Analyst IV's role is to assist with the development of project plans to test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This position is also responsible for supervising and/or leading the development of new systems, directing changes to existing systems, controlling the interfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibility studies, and making recommendations for actions to be taken. The position is also expected to assist senior departmental management in determining the strategic IT direction for the area and/or unit and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Provides functional and technical expertise relating to all departmental applications and the department's student database. Includes, but is not limited to, Advise, Recruit, Axiom, etc. Applies SQL query techniques and quality assurance. Creates and modifies student data reports; analyzes data and provides recommendations based on findings. Provides ad hoc and standardized reports to user areas and supports the Institutional Data Analytics Team with institutional reporting and data analysis needs. Manages technical procedures that support office operations, new initiatives, and projects. Assists with the preparation of required reports for federal, state, and other agencies. Maintains the accuracy and integrity of automated data processing system practices, procedures, and reports. Assists the Institutional Data Analytics Team and other areas within TTUHSC with projects by developing SQL scripts and Cognos reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus five (5) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal nine (9) years.
  • Criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment.
  • Background checks, including criminal history and other security-related screenings, due to potential access to critical infrastructure.
