About The Position

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Program Support Technician in our Intelligence Operations Directorate (IOD) at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to: Providing accurate and complete reports. Preparing memorandums and correspondence in a timely and efficient manner. Maintaining files for grant programs, procurement, and compliance with established regulations, policies, and procedures for the IOD. Serving as a technical support specialist for divisional outreach programs to include open-source information gathering and dissemination.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Skills in using personal/business computers.
  • Skills in using Microsoft Office Applications and other computer applications.
  • Skills in operating standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines.
  • Ability to apply research and analytical methodology in the interpretation of criminal arrest and disposition information.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete files.
  • Ability to interpret oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain office equipment and supplies.
  • Valid Virginia Operator's License.
  • Must be Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified or have the ability to become certified, which requires either United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident status of the United States and eligibility for naturalization.
  • Progressively responsible administrative and office experience required.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
