The Program Support Coordinator provides administrative support for the School of Behavioral Sciences. The Program Support Coordinator is supervised by various supervisors depending on the department. The PSC assists in processing applications to the BSSW and MSW programs and facilitates the gatekeeping process to help ensure that students have a thorough understanding of the profession of social work. The PSC engages students in this self-assessment process to ensure that students are a good fit for the program and profession. Developing and maintaining the admissions, gatekeeping, and tracking systems; assisting applicants; participating in student interviews to determine readiness for a professional social work program; and advising students to support them through the program are key aspects of the PSC’s role. The PSC also supports the program through data tracking and analysis and assists the Chair, Program Director, and Director of Field Education in other programmatic and accreditation matters. The PSC communicates with other teams within the department and other university departments to facilitate collaboration, as well. The candidate is to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly through oral and written correspondence to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The candidate is to be both professional and graceful while handling multiple projects and interacting with students. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and be calm and positive in difficult situations. The candidate is expected to work well both independently and as part of a team.
