The Parenting Support Program Coordinator provides support services to parents experiencing poverty. These include: In addition to direct service delivery, the Program Coordinator also spearheads Catholic Charitie’s flagship childcare support service, which works with families to provide access to the specific childcare that meets their needs. This includes creating childcare plans, creating and managing partnerships with childcare facilities, summer camp providers, early childhood centers, etc., as well as being the “expert on site” about the different subsidies and benefits available to low-income families. Supporting parents in Catholic Charities transitional housing program and parents in the wider community. The program coordinator is expected to carry a caseload of five transitional housing families and five community-based families and provide parenting coaching by using strength-based practices and a 2Generation, whole-family approach guided by family voice. Engaging the wider community in parenting support services offered by Catholic Charities. This includes establishing and growing caseloads by offering monthly workshops at hours convenient to working families (evenings and weekends) and working to ensure widespread community knowledge about what is available for parents and children through Catholic Charities through sustained outreach. This position will be responsible for the growth of the parenting support program, as measured by increased visits and sustained engagement of families. The program coordinator will be responsible for setting targets in this area. A flexible schedule is required, which may include 1–2 evenings per month and one weekend day per month to support family engagement activities and program events.
