About The Position

This position provides inclusive, professional customer service across all modalities (in-person, phone, email, virtual), and supports students through complex admission, enrollment, transcript, and graduation processes. The role requires independent judgment, a strong understanding of college policies, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve student issues efficiently. While the position will assist with application review and fraud detection, its primary focus is on admissions and enrollment troubleshooting, and student support. Student information must be kept confidential, as outlined by FERPA, as well as college policies and procedures. Must be customer-focused, patient, detail-oriented, and able to effectively communicate with customers and other staff/faculty. ABOUT THE COLLEGE: Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two (2) years' experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work positively with stakeholders from other offices/departments
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, resolve, and recall information required
  • Ability to multitask, and remain customer-focused, in a high-traffic environment
  • Expertise in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, SharePoint and Teams

  • Previous work experience with federal and/or state admissions, enrollment and residency rules, regulations, and policies
  • Bi-lingual in one of the top 5 languages in Green River’s service area: Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Somali, or Russian/Ukrainian

Responsibilities

  • Assist students, faculty, and staff by providing clear guidance on enrollment processes, documentation requirements, records updates, and available services.
  • Resolve student issues related to holds, prerequisites, permission codes, milestones, and course access by identifying root causes and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate decisions, next steps, and policy requirements in a professional and supportive manner, ensuring consistent and accurate information.
  • Independently research and resolve complex enrollment issues in ctcLink by correcting exceptions, identifying workflow conflicts, and applying relevant college, state, and federal policies.
  • Process enrollment updates—including adds, drops, swaps, and waitlist activity—with accuracy and timeliness to maintain data integrity.
  • Evaluate and process tuition waivers by reviewing eligibility, applying regulations, and ensuring correct posting to student accounts.
  • Maintain and update official student records, including biographical and contact information, and investigate and correct data errors in accordance with policy and legal standards.
  • Review, verify, and process admissions related and enrollment-related forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with institutional and state requirements.
  • Evaluate supporting documentation, resolve discrepancies, and determine appropriate next steps using established procedures and independent judgment.
  • Provide guidance to students and campus partners on required documents, approval processes, timelines, and residency related questions.
  • Maintain productive and respectful working relationships by considering multiple perspectives and communication styles.
  • Demonstrate awareness of how social identities (e.g., race, gender, disability status, religion) shape workplace interactions and experiences.
  • Address and resolve cross-cultural conflicts using effective, culturally responsive strategies.
