About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director of the McGill Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship (DCE), the Program Officer will play a key role in designing, delivering, and continuously improving high-impact entrepreneurship programming at one of the world's leading university-based accelerators. This position supports students and early-stage founders in transforming innovative ideas into scalable ventures through experiential learning, mentorship, and ecosystem engagement. Working across emerging technologies—including AI, health, climate, sustainability, and digital innovation—the Program Officer will develop programs that foster venture creation, responsible innovation, and real-world impact. The role combines program design and delivery, founder support, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence. A key responsibility is building connections across McGill's entrepreneurial ecosystem by collaborating with student groups, mentors, alumni, investors, and industry partners to create meaningful learning opportunities and strengthen the pipeline of future entrepreneurs. The McGill Dobson Centre's mission is to find, train, and develop entrepreneurs who build innovative companies with purpose. This role contributes to that mission by helping founders develop ventures that create economic, social, and environmental value.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, program management, or a related field, preferably within an incubator, accelerator, university, or startup ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, Lean Startup methodology, design thinking, and early-stage venture development.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies and interest in sustainability, innovation, and impact-driven entrepreneurship.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital collaboration platforms.
  • Fluency in English and French is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver experiential entrepreneurship programming, including workshops, founder training, pitch events, and venture-building activities.
  • Integrate emerging technology trends and principles of sustainability and responsible innovation into programming.
  • Support founders in navigating technology commercialization pathways and early-stage venture development.
  • Track program outcomes, founder progress, and impact metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage program operations, communications, and digital tools that support participant engagement and reporting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with mentors, alumni, investors, industry experts, and ecosystem partners.
  • Collaborate with student organizations and represent the Centre at entrepreneurship and innovation events locally and internationally.
