About The Position

The Program Officer (PO) is a member of the Program Implementation Unit and will provide time-bound surge support (8 months) across the management of U.S. Government funded programs, with occasional support to foundation and other donor-funded projects as needed. The role supports Senior Program Managers with core program management functions, including reporting, coordination, and the systematic capture and translation of program learning into actionable and donor-facing products. This includes alignment with ADRA International systems such as LogAlto and adherence to donor requirements. This position contributes to strengthening ADRA International’s ability to connect implementation, data, and learning to support adaptive management and strategic positioning with key donors, particularly U.S. Government entities (DOS, USDA). This position is an 8 month assignment and employment will be on a fixed term agreement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in international studies, Business Administration or Knowledge Management.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in program management, and/or Knowledge Management within international development or related sectors
  • Experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in cross-cultural teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Canva, Tablea, Logalto.
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Support the review and updating of internal procedures, tools, and guidance documents
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly program updates, ensuring alignment between narrative reporting and LogAlto data
  • Support the use of LogAlto for tracking indicators, extracting insights, and strengthening coherence between M&E data and program narratives
  • Review and provide quality assurance for programmatic reports, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with donor expectations (primarily USG, with occasional support to other donors)
  • Support submission of reports through donor platforms
  • Coordinate regular check-ins with Country Offices, document key discussion points, and track follow-up actions
  • Maintain program tracking tools and dashboards (SharePoint, LogAlto, and internal trackers)
  • Provide general programmatic and administrative support as needed
  • Identify, capture, and synthesize key lessons learned from program implementation in coordination with Program Managers and MEAL teams
  • Translate program data and field experience into structured learning products, including briefs, white papers, and implementation summaries
  • Ensure learning outputs are aligned with LogAlto data, donor reporting, and program priorities
  • Support the development of donor-facing materials that highlight results, approaches, and impact, aligned primarily with USG priorities and adaptable to other donor audiences
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing to promote consistency and uptake of best practices across the portfolio
  • In coordination with Marketing and Development (M&D), support the identification and framing of humanitarian stories grounded in program evidence
  • Support proposal development through research, drafting, editing, and formatting
  • Integrate relevant program learning and evidence into proposals to strengthen positioning with U.S. Government donors (DOS, USDA) and, where relevant, foundation and other funding streams
  • Track donor priorities, funding trends, and emerging areas of focus
  • Performs other duties as required.
