About The Position

Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is seeking an organized, execution-focused Program Manager (PM) to support customer order execution and program delivery across their amplifier and generator product lines. This role is critical for ensuring contract compliance, delivery predictability, and cross-functional coordination with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Engineering. The Program Manager will have formal people management responsibilities for Order Management Specialists and will be the primary owner of non-program customer orders. The role also supports Program Managers on larger programs and independently manages smaller, lower-risk programs, ensuring adherence to PMO processes, schedules, and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience).
  • 3–6 years of experience in program coordination, order management, project support, or operations.
  • Understanding of customer contracts, terms, and conditions.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution to commitments.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP).
  • Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).
  • Working knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP coursework, CAPM, internal PM training).
  • Exposure to electronics, RF, high-voltage, or complex hardware products.
  • Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven products.
  • Familiarity with export control concepts (ITAR / EAR).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Order Management Specialists, including task assignment, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Own execution of non-program customer orders, including internal schedule commitments.
  • Ensure all orders meet contractual, documentation, and readiness requirements prior to release.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for order release readiness, contract compliance checks, documentation completeness, and export screening coordination.
  • Serve as first-level escalation for order execution issues.
  • Support Program Managers by tracking schedules, milestones, and deliverables, preparing status updates and dashboards, and coordinating cross-functional execution with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Independently manage smaller or lower-complexity programs as assigned.
  • Drive adherence to PMO processes, phase-gate discipline, and documentation standards.
  • Partner daily with Operations/Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales to resolve execution and priority conflicts.
  • Drive accountability for commitments while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Identify recurring execution issues and support continuous improvement efforts within the PMO.
