Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services or related field from an accredited institution.
  • LPC or LSW licensure required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment or behavioral healthcare.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership or management experience.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and residential treatment requirements.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards.
  • Experience with quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and program operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with youth, young adults, families, or individuals in a behavioral health, education, human services, residential, or juvenile services setting
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience managing residential treatment programs

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily operations of all residential inpatient treatment services.
  • Ensure programming aligns with ASAM criteria for Level 3.5 residential care.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and program initiatives.
  • Monitor census, admissions, discharges, patient flow, and program capacity.
  • Coordinate services to ensure seamless patient transitions throughout the continuum of care.
  • Promote a therapeutic environment that supports recovery, safety, and patient engagement.
  • Clinical Oversight: Collaborate with Supervisors, Medical Providers, and Treatment Teams to ensure quality patient care.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and outcomes through established performance measures.
  • Ensure treatment services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered.
  • Participate in case consultations and review complex patient situations.
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation: Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements governing substance use disorder treatment.
  • Monitor documentation practices and clinical records for quality assurance and compliance.
  • Ensure patient rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA standards are consistently maintained.
  • Staff Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
  • Provide regular coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and retention.
  • Manage staffing patterns and scheduling to ensure adequate program coverage.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development within the department.
  • Quality Improvement & Risk Management: Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes, safety, and service excellence.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans to achieve organizational goals.
  • Review incident reports, grievances, adverse events, and risk concerns.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored for effectiveness.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for program enhancement.
  • Community & Stakeholder Relations: Develop relationships with referral sources, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the organization at professional meetings, community events, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Support outreach efforts to enhance program visibility and admissions growth.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to strengthen continuity of care and patient outcomes.
