About The Position

The W. P. Carey School of Business Undergraduate Programs Office is seeking an energetic, service-oriented, and self-motivated person to work on its Enrollment and Engagement team as a Program Manager. The Scholarship team works to implement programming aimed at retention, leadership development, and engagement of W. P. Carey students. Under direct supervision of the Manager of Scholarships, this position will coordinate scholarship and engagement efforts to support undergraduate students. This position will manage the McCord Scholars Program, W. P. Carey’s most prestigious scholarship including but not limited to recruitment, selection, mentoring, communication with faculty, staff and alumni, and ensuring the overall program success and compliance. This position will also manage the Turken Family Outstanding Graduating Senior Award process from promotion and recruitment, application, ongoing communication and partnership with the Undergraduate Committee (comprised of faculty from each of the W. P. Carey academic departments), and private donors including the Turken Family, as well as event details for the fall and spring award luncheon. This position requires a high level of autonomy, event management, and communication to support several of the most prestigious scholarships across the Undergraduate Programs Office of the W. P. Carey School of Business. This individual will also provide varying levels of managing and processing of several scholarship programs within Undergraduate Programs. This position is also expected to support and participate in student engagement events and programs including but not limited to Fall Welcome, Family Weekend, Sun Devil Days, Convocation, and more. The coordinator will work with a variety of staff members, faculty, and donor relations – both at W. P. Carey, ASU, and community partners, and must be successful in event management, strong communication, working autonomously, managing multiple details, taking initiative, and demonstrating integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions
  • Ability to quickly change priorities that may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts.

  • Evidence of a Master's degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, plans and supports scholarship activities, functions and programs associated with the delivery of undergraduate scholarships in accordance with priorities, time limitations, and/or specifications
  • Process scholarship awards in various scholarship systems such as PeopleSoft, Scholarship database and Workday including initiating transfer requests for scholarships awards through foundation accounts
  • Utilize ASU Scholarship Universe to create scholarship applications and other administrative components to coordinate the selection and award process for established scholarships within the business school
  • Budget management and scholarship disbursement for the McCord Scholars Program
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection of the W. P. Carey School of Business McCord Scholars Program Scholars including the McCord Mentees Program
  • Manages and guides all McCord Scholars Program events and initiatives to support program growth, ensure successful execution, ongoing communication with faculty and staff, and maintain adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Provides consistent advising and mentorship to McCord Scholars Program members, fostering their leadership development and engagement
  • Requires coordination of high-visibility, large-scale events to support prominent scholarships within the W. P. Carey School of Business
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with department and university partners, faculty members, ASU Foundation, development office, donors, and community partners
  • Tracking progress and results for several projects at once.
  • Assists with report preparation, data entry, word processing, creating and assembling materials
  • Develops, plans, and facilitates workshops, meetings, engagement events, and presentations with high impact on the program
  • Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees
  • Responds to student questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Initiates and prepares administrative reports and documents
  • Assesses scholarship programs, and scholarship events for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Recommends and monitors compliance with department policies and procedures
  • Develop work plans in accordance with established unit and department objectives and funding limitations
  • Performs duties for the Manager of Engagement in his/her absence and other duties as assigned
  • Supervises the scholarship team’s student worker, ensuring effective support for the McCord Scholars Program and related scholarship events, while overseeing the completion of administrative tasks for the team.
  • Leads and coordinates the full recruitment and selection cycle for the Turken Family Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, including outreach and promotion, application management, and review coordination
  • Oversees the event management of the Turken Family Awards Luncheons as well as other scholarship events within the scholarship program
