About The Position

The Wheeler Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides behavioral health services for individuals (and family members) employed by contracted organizations across Connecticut, as well as offering consultative services to managers and supervisors to help address workplace issues. The EAP Program Manager plans and directs the operations of the Wheeler Employee Assistance Program and manages staff to ensure optimal performance. This position also maintains procedures to support efficient and effective program operations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree (MA or MS) plus two years of EAP experience or related management, human resources, or clinical experience required.
  • Strong communication, consultation, and computer literacy skills required.
  • Currently Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) credential or willingness to become certified.
  • Connecticut LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Psychologist license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management and oversight for all aspects of the program and participates in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule to provide clinical consultation and support in accordance with established program protocols.
  • Maintains accountability for the achievement of program goals and staff compliance with organizational goals and deadlines (e.g., certifications, training, standards).
  • Provides direction and supervision to the EAP Specialist and oversight to Wheeler EAP Affiliates.
  • Determines staffing requirements, hires and trains new staff, and supervises staff according to overall policy.
  • Identifies and suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Implements change when possible, to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with existing client companies through effective communication.
  • Coordinates and provides management consultation to HR personnel, supervisors, managers, and executives of client companies around employee behavioral health and/or work performance concerns.
  • Maintains positive relationships with existing EAP Work-Life Services Vendor Employee Care and EAP Data Collection Vendor Harting Associates.
  • Coordinates and provides effective training services for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Coordinates and provides psychological first aid/critical incident services to client and non-client companies.
  • Coordinates and provides organizational development services including leadership and management development training, executive and management coaching, team development, and conflict resolution interventions.
  • Coordinates the service delivery of Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) assessments by credentialed EAP Affiliates.
  • Conducts effective performance evaluations, sets goals and objectives, and monitors performance.
  • Helps team execute career development plans.
  • Develop new business prospects, prepare proposals, and make sales presentations to potential new client companies.
  • Maintains confidential records of EAP client services for reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Develops and monitors program budget.
  • Maintains a high-quality robust network of EAP providers.
  • Identifies opportunities and strategies to measure EAP client satisfaction and implement client satisfaction surveys.
  • Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served and uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
