About The Position

The summer JH+ programs manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation of all summer JH+ camps, programs, and activities for youth. He/ she will work closely with and alongside the summer JH+ camp coordinators to ensure that all summer camp tasks are being developed and well-executed, the summer camp goals are being achieved, planning is well developed and executed, and much more. He/ she will also work alongside the youth activities administrator and marketing & social media coordinator to ensure that field trips and bussing are booked accordingly, that posters are being created, updated, and marketed, and much more. The summer programs manager will also work closely and follow up with the junior high and high school activities coordinator to ensure that all other summer programs are running well and are being managed and followed up on. Through this position, the summer programs manager will gain fundamental skills and experience in how to assess situations and identify appropriate solutions, be creative and innovative in coming up with solutions and implementing the best resolution, gain personal management skills, specifically organizational and leadership skills by supervising the counselors, assistant counselors, volunteers and manage the relationship between the camp participants, counselors, and parents, and be adaptable and willing to learn continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire operation of all summer JH+ camps, programs, and activities for youth.
  • Work closely with and alongside the summer JH+ camp coordinators to ensure that all summer camp tasks are being developed and well-executed, and summer camp goals are being achieved.

  • Develop a comprehensive follow up plan and program for the summer programs and activities.
  • Develop a program to mentor and guide summer youth workers.
  • Follow up with the day-to-day activities associated with curriculum, resources, field trips, finances, communication with coordinators, counselor and parents.
  • Set goals and priorities, and work independently and as a part of a team when planning and executing the program.
